About the job
Make a difference to the customers of Albert Heijn as our new QA Engineer for our mobile apps. These apps are used by millions of users in the Netherlands. Being a QA Engineer means your ultimate goal is to ensure that only the most reliable code makes it to production. Being part of an Agile team, you can set up the tests in such a way that the team can deliver high quality software to production. You do this by knowing the ins and outs of our applications. You work together with developers in your team to ensure the fastest possible feedback. With your experience with test automation and requirements analysis, you marshal your team in the right direction. 


The team
This position is for our Loyalty & Savings team for our Albert Heijn app. An app that is written in native iOS / Android but where we are gradually adding in Flutter features. Being a Tester in the AH Customer Technology domain, means you are responsible, together with your colleagues, for the technical aspects of Albert Heijn's app, used by millions of customers in their daily shopping activities. Your challenge
As QA Engineer in our Loyalty & Savings team you’re helping our mobile team with ensuring a quality first mindset. You’re working with the newest test automation tooling and are not afraid to write automated test scripts yourself. You run these tests on your machine in an emulator, or as part of the CI/CD processes. Being a test engineer, you also know your way around with generic testing frameworks like Appium, Selenium, Cypress or RestAssured and have experience with working in Github.


Next to your technical skills, you are also able to translate complex requirements into clear acceptance criteria that are the basis for tests. You preferably are familiar with BDD and know how to apply this to your refinement and test process. After all testing is a team effort, and as a test engineer you play a significant role in helping the team to have the right focus on quality.


In short; as a QA Engineer you:

  • Can coach your team in a quality first mindset
  • Support in the requirement process
  • Can write automated tests with the focus on Mobile
  • Help other team members to expand their technical testing skills
  • Know when to apply different types of tests and form an approach
  • Can setup and run tests in a CI/CD environment
  • Have a deep knowledge of Agile practices (specifically scrum)
  • Are the bridge between the business and developers

  • An annual salary between 50K and 65K based on a full-time workweek, incl holiday allowance for 40 hours/week. 
  • A bonus plan: the annual amount can range from 45 to 130% of your average monthly paycheck. 
  • Possibility to work 32-40 hours a week.
  • A hybrid workplace with an average of 1-2 days in our office.

What we’re looking for in you:

  • A passionate tester that both finds nasty bugs and has a risk-based approach for testing. 
  • You bring at least a few years of relevant experience as a software tester, testing mobile apps.
  • Testing mobile applications is what you like best. If you have experience in testing Flutter apps it’s awesome, but native iOS/Android will do too. 
  • Knowledge of API / REST service testing.
  • Experience with source control and CICD systems like Github, Github Actions and Jenkins
  • Experience with test automation.
  • A valid working permit to work in the Netherlands is mandatory (we can offer extension of your sponsorship, but currently don’t offer relocation).
