Wat betekent dit voor jou?

.

Working as a backend developer for AH Technology means you help us build the applications our Finance department runs on. We are in the middle of a transformation: the old processes and systems are being replaced by newer ones. We are looking for a developer who wants to help drive that change rather than wait for it.

Your new job.
As a backend developer you join the Sales Accounting DevOps team, which runs the Sales Accounting services and is rebuilding them at the same time. You work closely with the other engineers in the team and with the product owner. Roughly 70% of your week goes to new development, the rest to keeping the current data flows running. The ambition is to move every legacy sales accounting flow onto Kotlin microservices on Azure, and you can be one of the people who gets that done.

You help write the technical designs, build the solutions, and then deploy and maintain them. Most of your time is hands-on: your own code and reviewing your colleagues'. You are one of the people the team leans on for technical quality, without losing the pace we hold in our Scrum cadence. The team works in English, so you do not need Dutch for this role.

We work hybrid, from home and from the office. The team is in Zaandam once or twice a week. The office is a short walk from the station and you get an NS Business Card.

This is how you will reinvent food retail.

  • Replace our legacy Finance landscape with services that can carry the volume our core business keeps adding.
  • Write the code, automate the tests, keep security in mind, and help decide how the team builds and deploys.
  • Be the colleague who clears obstacles for the rest of the team instead of stepping around them.

Making room for differences.
We believe that everyone should feel comfortable being themselves and feel welcome and valued at work. We embrace different perspectives, experiences and backgrounds, and actively work to build engaged teams where everyone has the opportunity to contribute. We believe that different perspectives help us make better decisions and achieve better results together.

We look at the talents, knowledge, experience and personality you bring. Don’t meet every requirement but still see yourself in this role? We encourage you to apply. We welcome candidates with different backgrounds and experiences and are curious to hear what you can bring and what you would like to contribute.

The recipe for maximum impact.

  • Strong experience building and operating scalable backend systems with Kotlin or Java/Spring Boot in a microservices environment
  • Have experience with event-driven systems (e.g. Kafka) and designing scalable backend services
  • Experience with cloud-native environments, Kubernetes, CI/CD tooling and Infrastructure-as-Code (preferably Terraform)
  • Solid understanding of relational databases and designing backend systems with a strong focus on scalability, performance and data integrity
  • Experience taking technical ownership, driving solution design and architecture decisions within a team, while mentoring other developers
  • Has good interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders,
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to translate functional requirements into technical solutions together with Product Owners and stakeholders
  • Based in the Netherlands and able to work hybrid from Zaandam
  • Willing to participate in an on-call/standby rotation as part of the team’s operational responsibilities
