1. Privacy Policy

Albert Heijn B.V. ("Albert Heijn"), located at Provincialeweg 11, 1506 MA in Zaandam, is the data controller for:

  • processing personal data of visitors and job applicants through the website werk.ah.nl;
  • the processing of personal data of applicants during a (direct) application procedure;

This privacy policy informs you about the personal data Albert Heijn processes during the application process. We believe it is important to ensure that the processing of your data is transparent, personal and reliable. Albert Heijn handles data with care and ensures that any processing complies with applicable laws and regulations, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG).

This privacy policy may change from time to time if new developments warrant it. The most up-to-date privacy policy can be found at werk.ah.nl. We will notify you of any important changes, but Albert Heijn also recommends that you consult this privacy policy regularly so that you are aware of these changes. The privacy policy always indicates the most recent date of change.This privacy policy was last amended on 30 October 2021.

1.1 Why do we process your data?

We use your data to assess whether we will offer you an employment contract. We may also ask your permission to pass your data on to other companies within Royal Ahold Delhaize N.V. that may have a suitable position for you, such as Etos B.V. or Gall & Gall B.V.

We need your data for:

  • recruitment and selection purposes;
  • to communicate with you;
  • to assess whether you are suitable for the position you are applying for;
  • to check with the UWV whether you belong to the target group of the Employment Agreement and Quota Act;
  • (if justified by the nature of the position) a social media survey;
  • (if justified by the nature of the position) a screening, assessment, or medical examination.

1.2 What personal data do we process for this purpose?

Website

If you apply for a vacancy via the website werk.ah.nl or directly via the relevant department and/or Human Resources, the necessary personal data will be requested, such as your first name, last name, gender, date of birth, address, postal code, place of residence, telephone number, additional telephone number, e-mail address, education, availability, CV and your motivation.

If you are under 16 years old, we process the name and contact information of your parents, guardians or caregivers.

When you consent to share your location with us we process your location to sort available jobs based on your location. Your location is not stored by Albert Heijn but is available within the web browser you are using. You can revoke your permission for this at any time within the web browser.If you wish to receive 

Job alerts of vacancies in your areas of interest, we will store your email address, search criteria and the frequency chosen to receive the Job alerts.

Application procedure

If the application is processed, we may also process the following data:

  • your first name, last name, gender, date of birth, address, zip code, place of residence, phone number, additional phone number, email address, education, availability, CV and your motivation.
  • interview notes;
  • (if applicable) the results of a screening, assessment, psychological test or medical examination;
  • your BSN and authorization form if we want to check whether you belong to the target group of the Employment Agreement and Employment Restrictions Act;
  • verification of your identity during a job interview by means of an original proof of identity (we do not make a copy yet, but we will if you are hired).

1.3 How long do we keep your personal data?

The personal data you provide to Albert Heijn will be retained by Albert Heijn for a period of 4 weeks after the end of the application process. If you have given your consent, the data will be deleted 1 year after the end of the application procedure. If you get the job and join Albert Heijn, your details will become part of your personnel file.

If you subscribe to the Jobalert, we will keep your details (e-mail address and preferences) until you unsubscribe. If you have received the job and become employed by Albert Heijn, your details will become part of your personnel file.

1.4 What if you are under 16?

If you are under 16, please inform your parents about your application to Albert Heijn. If consent is requested, for example to keep your data for a longer period of time, we need your parents' permission in lieu.

1.5 How do we protect your personal data?

Albert Heijn takes extreme care with your personal data. We have taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss or unlawful use. We secure our systems and applications in accordance with current information security standards, such as Control Objectives for Information and related Technology (CobiT) and the Standard of Good Practicefor Information Security (ISF).

1.6 Which third parties have access to your data?

With your consent, we may pass your data on to other companies within Royal Ahold Delhaize N.V. that may have a suitable position for you, such as Etos B.V. or Gall & Gall B.V. You can consent to this via the web form on werk.ah.nl or at a later time if requested. Once these companies have received your data, they are the data controller and their privacy policies apply to the processing of personal data. These can be viewed at werk.etos.nl and werk.gall.nl.

Albert Heijn engages third parties in the performance of its services and other business activities. These include organizations such as Robidus for social security work and PiCompany for assessments, as well as IT companies such as Microsoft for hosting and Tata Consulting Services for maintenance of our software and systems. Insofar as these third parties process your data for Albert Heijn's purposes when performing the relevant services and business activities, they do so in the capacity of processors and Albert Heijn has taken the required technical and organizational measures to ensure that your data is processed solely for the above purposes. We also enter into a processor agreement with processors.

Only if Albert Heijn is legally obliged to do so will personal data be provided to supervisory bodies, tax authorities and investigative bodies.

Some of Albert Heijn's service providers are located outside the European Economic Area. Your personal data may therefore be transferred to recipients in countries outside the European Economic Area. In such cases, Albert Heijn will take appropriate measures to ensure that your data is protected to the fullest extent possible, such as agreeing with these recipients on standard data protection provisions drawn up by the European Commission. 1.7 What requests can you make regarding your personal data?

You may at any time request access to the information Albert Heijn collects about you and have it corrected, transferred or deleted by sending a request to: privacy@aholddelhaize.com.
